Nihon Daiko is a Japanese drum ensemble similar to the world famous “Kodo-Drummers”, consisting of nineteen drummers from Kushiro on Hokkaido, the northernmost of the main Japanese islands. This CD brings to you the powerful rhythms of Japanese drums. The drummers weave rhythmic patterns of an almost hypnotic quality and intensity. They paint pictures of the life of the fishermen, of the wild and inhospitable landscapes in the North of Hokkaido and of the untamed and perilous oceans that pound the island’s shores. A gripping experience!
