Dumitru Farcas is one of the greatest virtuosi of Romanian folk music and the undisputed master of the taragot, a Romanian traditional wind instrument with a unique and beautiful tone, somewhere between clarinet, oboe, soprano saxophone and bassoon.
Farcas plays folk melodies from various regions of Romania accompanied on church organ by Grammy Award-winning ethnomusicologist and organist Marcel Cellier. Extraordinary, restful music of spellbinding power.
