This is the second album from the successful Yamato Ensemble. It is a selection of old and contemporary Japanese chamber music performed by Aiko Hasegawa, Kikuko Satoh, Richard Stagg, and Makoto Hasegawa. Richard Stagg studied the shakuhachi in England with Yoshikazu Iwamoto. Aiko Hasegawa and Kikuko Satoh both studied at Gedai (Art) University in Tokyo. Makoto Hasegawa graduated from Nihon Daigaku in 1990 and from Gedai University in 1994. The booklet informs on artists, instruments and the music in four languages.
