Raízes do Fado is a Portuguese group consisting Francisco Fialho, Matilde Larguinho, Antonio Carvalho and Alfredo Pena. The name of the group means “Roots of Fado”. Francisco and Matilde are singing traditional and own Fados accompanied by Antonio on guitarra portuguesa (a long-necked lute) and Alfredo on viola (a 4 or 5-string guitar). All four artists have been professional musicians for more than 20 years and they have worked together for many years. The booklet includes the original Portuguese lyrics and explanatory notes in 4 languages.
