5 of 5 Stars!Christopher Luke, 03/16/2008
Tunisia is an small-Arab country located in North Africa which is rich in music and dance traditions, that are largely unheard of by the rest of the world. This album presents the music and songs of "Ez Zouhour" who are a music band formed in the early 1990s in Austria. The band works to promote and preserve Tunisian and North African Arab music and dance styles. The band play a variety of different instruments typical of the Arab culture seen across North Africa. Some of the instruments include: oud, kanun, nay flute, kemancheh, double bass, darbouka, tar, duf, bender, sagat with male and female vocals. The CD is the best resource that is available so far, that reflects the traditional Tunisian Arab folk music.
