Gypsy music performed up and down the Nile at weddings, festivals and religious celebrations, recorded at Giza by Hossam Ramzy. Accompanying the stunning, raw, emotional voice of the fourteen years old singer Miss Hala Mahmoud (and backing voices) are traditional instruments, such as magrouna (double reed ‘oboe’), mizmar (double reed pipe), rebaba (spike fiddle), duff, doholla, tabla (drums) and various percussion.
