Mostafa Sax was born in Shoubra-Cairo, Egypt, form where many a great composer and artist have come. He learned to play the Saxophone at an early age and at 16 he became a new face on the scene of Mohammed-Ali-Street, Cairo’s best known location for Baladi. In 1968 he studied the Quanoun (Arabian dulcimer) and piano. After graduating a Bachelor of Art Mostafa toured extensively in Arabian countries. Later in London he developed his highly specialised Baladi-sound.
