Folk Songs & Sacred Music from Nepal

This album presents field recordings made in Katmandu and other Nepalese towns and villages by the renowned ethnomusicologist Deben Bhattacharya. The music is partly folk music, comprising of songs and mask dances, and temple music in worship of Krishna and Govinda. The booklet contains colour photos and detailed descriptions of the themes of the music and the original instruments played. This CD is a beautiful and interesting sound document and a collector’s item – do not miss it!
