Gregori Schechter was born in 1957 near Vladivostok, in the former Soviet Union and showed remarkable musical talent from a young age. He left the Soviet Union in 1987 for Israel and from there moved to the UK where he formed the ‘Klezmer Festival Band’ with the assistance of the Jewish Music Heritage Trust. With Gregory we have a true master; his clarinet sometimes singing sweetly, sometimes racing along at breath-taking speed.
