Cumbia – Pa-ti, Pa-ti

Cumbia is a dance rhythm originating in Colombia. It mixes multi-layered rhythmical structures of African origin with Spanish influenced melodies. Initially it developed as a folk dance among the African slaves along the Atlantic coast, consisting of various drums and percussion and a flute. Later lyrics were added. The Cumbia has since become Colombia’s national dance.
