Pan Jing (pipa) was born in 1963 in Tianjin and is said to be one of the best pipa soloists of China. Liu Ying (erhu: fiddle) born in 1963 in Peking is one of the most talented erhu-players of a young generation of Chinese musicians. Cui Junzhi (konghou: harp), born in 1954 in Peking is the best konghou player in China. Li Huangjia (dizi: flute) born 1959 in Changchun has played the flute since the age of thirteen.
