The Athenians - Canto General

“Canto General” is an orchestral work with choir composed by Mikis Theodorakis based on the work of the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. On this fascinating album with its unique synthesis of Greek instruments and Andean flutes, the Greek music is played by The Athenians and the choir parts are played on zampoñas and kenas by Joël Francisco Perri. Additional music from the award-winning film ‘Z’ composed by Theodorakis and songs by Stavros Xarchakos.
